Starbucks brought the holiday spirit early this year, releasing their drinks on November 2nd only two days after Halloween. With this early release, Starbucks introduced a new drink to their holiday menu called the “Gingerbread oat milk Chai” which comes Hot or cold and with Oleato® at select stores that carry it. Oleato® is extra-virgin olive oil infused with a coffee drink. Even though it might sound strange you should give it a try.
Starbucks also brought back fan favorites like the Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee latte, and others alongside their winter holiday treats like the reindeer cake pop. The Peppermint Mocha has a smooth chocolate flavor infused with the nice classic taste of peppermint. But, if you like more of a holiday spice-filled drink the Gingerbread Chai is for you.
The Gingerbread chai consists of the flavor of a normal Chai with a gingery twist. It has a subtle gingerbread taste with the chai being more straightforward. These drinks offer the taste of holiday cheer, giving you the warm and comfy winter feeling. One more sentence about this new drink.
This year’s launch of winter Starbucks drinks is the earliest that Starbucks has ever done with last year being released on November 3rd. Could this be a pattern? 2021’s release was on November 4th while the release of the winter drinks in 2020 was on the 6th of November. With the rise of early holiday shopping over the years, other stores also started releasing holiday items. This trend seems to be starting to drown out the fall holidays such as Thanksgiving. If influential brands such as Starbucks keep pushing back their holiday celebrations other holidays could possibly be forgotten. I think these holiday drinks came way too early because November is not a winter month and should be released at least starting in December.
