On August 25, Riordan’s Class of 1988 celebrated their 30th high school reunion. Twenty four members reunited at Thirsty Bear on Howard Street in San Francisco.

Riordan Class of 1988 alumnus, Brenden Dobel, who is a brewmaster at Thirsty Bear, helped give the Crusaders a great evening to catch up with one another. The event was organized by Orlando Perrotta, Riordan English teacher Michael Vezzali- Pascual, and Mark Girish, who was class president their senior year.

David Dorantes Sr. ’88 stated, “It was good seeing these guys. We reminisced, told stories and laughed about our time at Riordan. We had a great four years there.”

Perrotta live streamed the night to those who could not be in attendance.

Vezzlli-Pascual said, “We were very close as a class and it’s always good to see each other. And 30 years later, we thought it would be a formal way to celebrate.”

The evening continued with a toast to those classmates who have passed away. Also, a big cheer was given to two classmates, Soni Cham ’88 from Toronto, Canada and Raymond Chen ’88 from Singapore, who traveled back to San Francisco just for the event.

The evening wrapped up with the group gathering together, taking pictures, and the singing of the alma mater. “We sang the alma mater and it was loud!” said Dorantes.

Even 30 years later, the Brotherhood is strong.
