As the 2024 school year comes to a close, the students of Archbishop Riordan High School have elected Caroline O’Connell ’25 as our new president to lead their student body to a bright future. The election process was filled with excitement and anticipation as candidates campaigned tirelessly to win the hearts and votes of their fellow peers with creative posters and slogans. Now, as the results are in, the school community is eager to see what changes and innovations the new president will bring to the table.
Despite the upcoming pressure The Russi junior is excited for her new position stating, “I am most excited to work with parliament and the other students.” The enthusiasm is shared among her peers in the student body with both Jill Paculba ’27 and Carmen Giuffre ’27, members of parliament, agreeing that Caroline O’Connell is ready for her presidency.
Jill Paculba stated that O’Connell is, “an amazing president and she’s a great leader, very organized and can take control of whatever situation can come to her.”
Giuffre said O’Connell will add a “new perspective on Riordan and its spirit week will be great for the community as it will provide more school spirit.”
As she steps into her new role, O’Connell has wasted no time in outlining her plans and promises for the school. From organizing more student surveys to implementing ideas to boost school spirit. She is committed to making Riordan a welcoming and supportive environment for all.
With a focus on club representation and school wide games such as casino night or senior assassin, she aims to bridge the gap between students and faculty, creating a sense of unity and empowerment throughout our school community.
As of now this new leadership has not taken over, but students can expect a new and exciting future for Riordan on the horizon.
