Taco Bell’s new at home kits are taking the market by storm as people make their popular crunch-wraps and quesadillas from the comfort of their own home.
The fast-food chain recently released new take-home box meals, adding to the already released taco kits. Taco Bell, being one of the only fast food chains to have at home kits, created an innovative marketing strategy that’s being sold at Walmarts and online nationwide.
“I definitely see myself purchasing the crunchwrap box,” said Josie Espinoza-Schleicher ’25.
The kits come with tortillas, tostada shells, sauces and seasonings for four servings; customers can add their choice of meat and any other toppings.
Irman Arcibal, Riordan’s art teacher and parent of two, said, “Anything packaged is helpful with kids.”
These at home meals are great for a quick snack for anyone in the family.
“My younger son loves burritos and my older one loves quesadillas, so the Taco Bell kits are definitely a possibility,” he added.
The idea sparked when Taco Bell fans across the country began to make their own Taco Bell influenced meals at home during the global pandemic. This trend blew up on social media as fans posted their creations on TikTok and Instagram.
According to USA Today, Danielle Coopersmith, the associate director of marketing at Taco Bell at Home, said in a statement, “Our innovation strategy focuses on creating new products inspired by beloved Taco Bell classics that encourage fans to customize their at-home creations and take them to new heights.”
The recipes, chosen based on public popularity, showcase the most sought after Taco Bell menu items. The crunch-wrap, one of the chain’s most iconic items, has been popular since it was released in 2005. The quesadilla was one of the top menu items in 2023, with the chipotle sauce adding a kick to the classic quesadilla.
“These are two of the best menu items so I’m excited about them,” said Frannie Delgado-Schaumberg ’24.
These popular Taco Bell items are gaining more popularity then the already released taco kits, and Taco Bell announced that more kit recipes are in the works to be released in the future.
