On Oct. 5, the Division 1 Marine Band from Camp Pendleton, San Diego presented a special performance to the Archbishop Riordan Marching Band on the Mayer Family Field. The performance ranged from patriotic numbers to interactive bass showcases. The Marines were accompanied by the San Francisco recruitment officers who challenged students to compete in a push up and pull up contest. To encourage students to consider military service, the program was jokingly described as a “13 week vacation and a free haircut.”
