New EICs for 2020-2021 named

The Crusader staff is excited to announce that this coming school year, we will have TWO editors-in-chief: Jordan Maralit ’21 and Grayson Salomon ’22.

Jordan, a senior, has written whimsical stories like the 50th anniversary of Sesame Street and teachers welcoming new babies, as well as an award-winning news story on the controversial George Washington mural at Washington High School.

Grayson, a junior, always has his finger on the pulse of what’s trending and breaking news. In addition to writing reviews on albums and roller coasters, he also was the first to notify the staff of the closure of Mercy SF, and promptly claimed the story as his own.

Jordan and Grayson succeed Steven Rissotto ’20, who led The Crusader to an unprecedented 32 awards this year, and is now enjoying his own career as a podcaster as well as studying journalism at Skyline College. Steven has agreed to assist the new staff with the transition, as this was not possible because the pandemic abruptly ended the school year without the traditional training.

The remainder of the editorial staff will be chosen and announced in the coming weeks, and further into the fall semester.
