Step into the ’50s at Rock’n Rob’s in Pacifica

The ’50s themed beachside restaurant Rock’n Rob’s on 450 Dondee Way has been in business for more than 30 years and features American classics like burgers, hot dogs, fries, milkshakes, and onion rings, but also has other delicacies like fish and chips or their wide range of vegetarian options.

I chose to get the most popular dish of the classic burger, fries, and a shake. The burger was great as the patty was cooked perfectly, and it contained delicious high- quality produce. Their fries were crispy and delicious, and their shake was magnificent; one of the best shakes I have ever had as it was thick, creamy, and all-around delicious.

Their interior is also outstanding. As soon as I walked in the door, it was like I went back in time. As I looked down, I saw the iconic checkered floor, and to the left, there are black and white pictures of ’50s stars like

Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe, which is where the restaurant got its name, and to the right, there were traditional ’50s booths.

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the interior theme can no longer be enjoyed until lockdown is over; but don’t let that discourage you from coming, as the outdoor dining tables were magnificent—the tables have an excellent view of the vast, beautiful ocean.

Secondly, the hospitality of the servers was perfect, as they were all friendly, considerate people. Another significant aspect of this restaurant is that the food only took 35 minutes from our online order to our table, which was surprising, considering they had to meet demands for an ongoing wedding.

Overall, the comforting food and the hospitality of the workers made Rock’n Rob’s a beautiful experience. Out of five stars, Rock’n Rob’s receives a total of 5. A burger, fries, and a shake cost $18.
