1st Overall Pick Jacksonville Jaguars: Quarterback Trevor Lawrence, Clemson

After a successful season-long tank, the Jag’s reward is the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck.

2nd Overall Pick — New York Jets: Quarterback Zach Wilson, BYU

The Jets honestly surprised me with moving on from Sam Darnold and not trading down to develop a better roster. In this case, Zach Wilson is too appealing and Gang Green can have their long awaited franchise quarterback.

3rd Overall Pick — San Francisco (via Miami Dolphins): Quarterback Mac Jones, Alabama

Many speculated whether S.F. was gonna get a QB this offseason to compete with Jimmy G. Well, they traded away 3 first round picks to move up the board to no. 3 overall and only such a move would be justified in an upgrade at the most important position in football. The Niners chose Jones over Fields presumptively after their head coach and General Manager went to his pro day instead of Fields’.

4th Overall Pick — Atlanta Falcons: Cornerback Patrick Surtain II, Alabama

The Falcons, without a need for receiver or QB, decide to ensure a better secondary with taking the best defensive back in this draft class.

5th Overall Pick — Cincinnati Bengals: Tackle Penei Sewell, Oregon

Cincy desperately needs to protect their franchise quarterback Joe Burrow and they luckily don’t even have to trade up to get the tackle with the most upside in decades.

6th Overall Pick — Miami Dolphins (via Philadelphia Eagles): Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase, LSU

The Dolphins have cashed in on 4 first round draft picks from the controversial Laremy Tunsil trade so now it is time to use two of those picks to trade back up and get a highly skilled wide receiver.

7th Overall Pick — Detroit Lions: Linebacker Micah Parsons, Penn State

Detroit subtly had the worst statistical defense for any team in over 40 years. Now it is time to tighten up the middle of the defense with an athletic linebacker.

8th Overall Pick — Carolina Panthers: Tight End Kyle Pitts, Florida

Before the Jets traded away Sam Darnold, I was going to predict the Jets trading down and selecting Pitts to help the 23 year-old quarterback. My predicted QB TE duo stays the same as Pitts is still available at 8th overall to pair up with the Panthers new starting quarterback.

9th Overall Pick — Denver Broncos: Cornerback Caleb Farley, Virginia Tech

The Broncos also have a glaring need for a corner after cutting A.J. Bouye, so they take the next best defensive back. Farley should fair up well alongside a former Hokie 1st round stud corner in Kyle Fuller.

10th Overall Pick — Dallas Cowboys: Edge Jaelan Phillips, Miami

Cowboys are known for their risks and taking the best player on their board, regardless of need, on draft day. However, I see Phillips as a top 10 talent in this draft and should be a fine replacement for edge rusher Aldon Smith.
