City College of San Francisco has had major renovations this past summer, transforming the old administrative building into the new Student Success Center. The new building is expected to help many students by providing them with the resources needed to succeed.
According to the City College of San Francisco’s website, “The project will consolidate over 30 student development programs such as academic counseling, tutoring, career center, transfer center, and more,”
Those interested in learning more about CCSF, are encouraged to visit the Welcome Center on the first floor of the SSC to schedule a tour of the historical campus.
Jennifer Quevedo, Student Retention Coordinator at CCSF, said, “I would like to invite the Crusader community to visit the new Student Success Center (SSC). It’s a great place to explore resources for current and future CCSF students.”
The new buildings at City College are already helping bring in new students and interest from the community. With the previously constructed STEAM building and the brand new Student Success Center, acting as a “welcoming gateway,” the campus feels more inviting to prospective students.
Melanie Aguas, a counselor at Riordan High School, said, “The new renovations will most likely attract new students to City College because of the new look they have.”
According to Aguas, the renovations draw in a bigger audience by showing their investment in the college’s future.
For alumni, the new buildings represent how far the school has come in improving the campus and resources for student success. Alec Longaway, who graduated from CCSF in 1992, said, “Back then getting help from counselors and other resources was difficult, however I think this new addition to the school will really help future students succeed.”
As construction continues with the demolition of the old bookstore, the renovated campus symbolizes progress and opportunities for the college. With new resources, CCSF is preparing its students and potential students for success.
