The Class of 2022 toss their graduation caps, concluding their time at Riordan.

Archbishop Riordan’s Class of 2022 graduated on May 28 on Mayer Family Field. This was the second time the school held graduation ceremonies on the field instead of Lindland Theatre. This new tradition started last year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but will most likely continue in the future because of the increased enrollment, creating much larger graduating classes.

Speakers included Principal Tim Reardon, Dean of Academics Nate Simon ’99, and drama instructor Valerie O’Riordan, who received the President’s Award and an honorary diploma. O’Riordan is retiring after 22 years at Riordan.

In addition, valedictorian Christine Zhu ’22 gave an inspiring, emotional speech, student body co-president Cole Anderson ’22 lead the Pledge of Allegiance, and chaplain Fr. Greg Heindeblut offered a prayer for the graduates and their families.
